This album is performed phenomenally by an extensive lineup of musicians (including Phil Cook on keys, who I've mentioned elsewhere). I love how, despite the relatively simple hooks, the individual performances combine to total far more than the sum of their parts.
I also recommend their 2019 KEXP performance. In addition to the stellar performance, I appreciate Taylor's sermon of gratitude (starts at 10:50), where he talks about the joys/challenges of balancing family life with performing art at a high level.
